💎 Gem Refinement Guide
Gem refinement turns lower-quality gems into stronger versions. The system is available from Jeweler NPC 3953 in the Market at approximately (240, 256).
Quick answer
The refinement ratio is:
15 Normal gems + 10,000 Silver = 1 Refined gem
15 Refined gems + 100,000 Silver = 1 Super gem
Therefore:
225 Normal gems + refinement fees = 1 Super gem
The two composition steps are separate. You cannot submit 225 Normal gems in one operation; first make Refined gems, then compose those Refined gems into a Super gem.
How to refine a gem
- Travel to the Market.
- Speak with Jeweler NPC 3953.
- Choose Compose gems.
- Choose the refinement direction:
- Compose normal to refined gems;
- Compose refined to super gems.
- Select the gem type.
- Make sure you have the required 15 gems and Silver.
- Confirm the composition.
The Jeweler consumes exactly 15 gems of the selected type and creates one gem of the next quality.
Supported gem types
The Jeweler supports refinement for:
- Phoenix;
- Dragon;
- Fury;
- Rainbow;
- Kylin;
- Violet;
- Moon;
- Tortoise.
Tortoise refinement is available through the same Jeweler menu and follows the same 15-to-1 rules:

The exact item ID changes by gem type, but the quality progression is always Normal → Refined → Super.
Refinement fees

The minimum Silver cost to produce one Super gem is therefore:
15 × 10,000 + 100,000 = 250,000 Silver
That assumes all 225 Normal gems are already the same gem type and excludes the cost of acquiring the gems.
Where gems come from
Mining is the main steady source of Normal gems. Each mine has its own gem specialization. For example, Twin City mine produces:
- Phoenix;
- Dragon;
- Rainbow;
- Tortoise.

A gem drop first selects the gem type, then the server rolls its quality. The current quality distribution is approximately:
80%Normal;17%Refined;3%Super.
These are quality chances after a gem reward has already been selected; they are not the chance of receiving any gem on every mining attempt.
Gem effects
Gem effects depend on the gem type and quality. In particular:
- Dragon: physical attack;
- Phoenix: magic attack;
- Rainbow: killing experience;
- Tortoise: incoming-damage reduction;
- Fury: accuracy;
- Kylin: durability;
- Violet: weapon experience;
- Moon: spell experience.
Tortoise is defensive: it does not increase outgoing damage. Normal, Refined, and Super Tortoise provide approximately 2%, 4%, and 6% incoming-damage reduction respectively.
Practical advice
- Keep gems separated by type; mixed gem types cannot be composed together.
- Bank Normal gems until you have 15 of the same type.
- Refined gems are valuable intermediate progress, so do not sell them accidentally.
- Tortoise gems can now be refined at the Jeweler and also matter for defensive progression and Bless upgrades.
- Mining in a specialized zone is the most reliable way to build a particular gem type over time.
